  • As a foster, I have experience with many different breeds and personalities, including special needs, medical, and behavioral issue.

If someone were to ask me what experience has shaped my life and personality the most, I would say, without hesitation, growing up on a ranch.  I developed a love of animals very early in my life.  As a Daughter of the Republic, my family arrived as pioneers, settling down just west of San Antonio in 1857.

Living on a ranch helped me develop a strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and appreciation for land and animals.  I grew up with dogs, cats, chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, cattle and horses.   I participated in 4-H, raising several animals, then onto FFA.

Growing up I would often bring stray or wounded animals home and nurse them back to health.   As an adult, my family and I have fostered dogs and cats through several rescues. We currently have a foster dog through Austin Pets Alive.   In 2012, a friend and I co-founded a 501 (c) 3 organization run entirely by volunteers providing impounded and stray animals care, we built a foster network, provide vital vet care and find homes for impounded adoptable animals who would otherwise be euthanized.

I feel lucky and blessed to grow up that way, this naturally evolved in doing what I love now which is pet sitting.    Myself, my husband, John and our son, Wyatt share our home with two cats; Sophie & Firefly, three dogs; Juno, Bailey & Maddy and finally our corn snake; Athena.
